Program Logistics and Eligibility:

• You must be available for the entire 12-week 2024 summer program. Two program session dates will be available to accommodate school schedules: May – Aug or June – September. Program dates are not flexible.

• You must be available to work 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday.

• We offer both onsite and remote internships and will ask for your preferences when you apply. The location of your internship will be determined based on the specific team you join and will be communicated later in the interview process.

• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for the duration of the internship period. Candidates who require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., F-1 visa status) are NOT eligible for this position.  Forms of OPT and CPT are NOT accepted for this role.


About the Role

As a Process Engineer Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain real work experience, collaborate with industry experts and contribute to projects that are directly impacting our mission.


Please note, this role may be available in multiple business units. Through our interview process, we will align your qualifications and interests with a specific team based on their skillset needs. Project and team details will be clarified throughout the interview process.


Responsibilities could include:

• Plan, conduct, analyze and develop requirements, experiments, and help with transfer capabilities from one platform to another.

• Analyze process test results, issue reports and make technical recommendations.

• Participate in process sustaining, definition and improvement, design, development and quality test activities.

• Troubleshoot production line issues related to yield, quality and throughput.

• Help construct and execute controlled experiments to optimize processes, address yield and quality issues, and drive implementation of solutions in a production environment to meet production goals.

• Develop supporting documents and process improvement content and work instructions for end users.

• Partner cross-functionally with Product Development, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and other engineering groups to develop and sustain processes for new sequencing consumables.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience with basic programming and statistical language (Python, R, RStudio, JMP, Java, SQL).

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Project)

• Hands on wet lab, chromatography, and research experience a plus.

• Self-starter, collaborator, and problem-solver with excellent communication skills and agile mind-set.

Education:

• You must be a current student enrolled in a full-time Bachelors or Masters degree program with a graduation date between December 2024 – July 2026.

• Preferred areas of study: Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Industrial engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Molecular Biology, Nanoengineering, Physics, Process Engineering, or related field.


Interview Process and Timeline:

The hourly rate for Intern roles based in the United States of America will range between $27.00 - $46.00 per hour, depending upon the individual’s education level and the location where the role is to be performed. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable hourly rate may be updated accordingly.
