Fantasmagorie was the first animated film by Emile Cohl in 1908. Animation dates back to the ancient world before the history of film as early animators found was to create movies without cameras and technology. In 1603 the magic lantern was invented, it as an image projector and is considered as the first example of projected animation. The first animated feature film was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in 1937 by Walt Disney Studios. Computer animation began in the 1940s.
